Harris State Beach, Oregon

Harris State Beach was the first night of our vacation after leaving Caleb's.  It is a very lovely beach.  However it was too cold to venture into the water.  It was dusk when we headed to the beach, and dark when we came back.   The big rock island in the ocean has always fascinated me.

Fall Break Vacation: Manteca, Harris Beach State Park and Olympic National Park and Penninsula

Image
For Tony's Fall break (he gets two weeks off following his first trimester) we went north for our first visit to Olympic National Park.  We were also determined to visit the Makah Reservation at the very northwest corner of the United States. We were lucky as our plans coincided with Anna, our niece, reporting her mission in Tracy.  We listened via ZOOM when she reported in North Logan.  I have no pictures of the meeting but she and her folks came to dinner after at Caleb and Annie's where we were staying.  At the meeting we saw our old neighbor, Kade Peterson who is now the stake president, as well as his counsellors and President Brown from the old stake presidency.  We also saw Brother Hammond from our ward in San Jose.  The Saturday before we took Caleb and Annie and kids to Red Robin.  We were leaning to the Mexican place near by, by Todd was so excited when he saw Red Robin we went there.  The only picture I got was of Caleb's youngest ....

October General Conference 2022: Port Orchard, WA

Image
October General Conference was spiritual, well presented and very historic.   It can still be accessed on-line.  We were introduced to a new Strength of Youth handbook.  Jesus Christ is the Strength of Youth.  For the first time ever a woman of African descent spoke in conference.  President Nelson announced 18 new temples.  This includes Buenos Aires City Center; where I served.  Another temple in Las Vegas (ten miles farther for me than the existing temple)  and a temple in Tacoma Washington.  That is a big deal as we were inPort Orchard for conference, with Natalia and her family and we were with their friends the Merrills.   there was a big cheer for Tacoma, which made me miss the Mexico temples.   I was looking up Lone Mountain, Nevada hoping it might be closer. Labor Day Weekend: Bridal Veil, Vernal Temple and Green River

Bridal Veil Falls is up Provo Canyon.  There is no longer a gandola. Vernal Temple was built in the old tabernacle.  This would have been our temple had we stayed in Roosevelt.  When we lived in Roosevelt our temple was the Provo Temple For Labor Day weekend we traveled north to go the the campgrounds where my brother served as the camp host.  This is in Brown's Hole.  We stayed in Bridge Hallow Campground.  He as the camp host stayed in Indian Crossing Campground.  John Jarvie Historical Ranch is between the two campgrounds.  Charlie took as on a float down the river.  Tony and Miranda had kayaks and we were in a river boat with Charlie.  He treated us to a hot dog and marshmallow roast one night at the ranch and showed us around. Flaming Gorge Dam.  They no longer let you walk on the dam where you can see the other side. osprey I could have done better with pictures.  I missed taking pictures of Mark and the boys who j...
