Musical Scarlet Pimpernell September 2024 Beale Street Theater

Image
Beale Street Theater presented a Fall music: The Scarlet Pimpernel.  Shelby Wigren directed, Tyler Wigren portrayed the Pimpernel, Alicia Russel played Marguerite and Jacob Beckstrand played Chauvelin, of the revolution who takes bride in sending people to the guillotine.  I portrayed St. Cyr, and aristocrat who appears to have been betrayed by Marguerite.  His head is chopped off early in the musical, so I have the distinction of having my head chopped off after singing my one line.  I got a couple backstage pictures, and then a few others shared.  Turned out to be a fun show.  The movie upon which it is based is here . The Graffs The Duke/ Jonathan I am in the grasp of Chauvelin making plans wedding, Pimpernel and Maguerite Pimpernel and his men Special dance was beautiful, choreographer was Hatie Graff, Mattea, Trent, Seth I came back as a prisoner, cousin. Beale Street Theater: Cinderella

Image
Beale Street Theater presents a delightful Cinderella.  My daughter and I attended on Saturday p.m.  There are three more shows this coming weekend, Friday and Saturday.  I really enjoyed the step sisters, always arguing.  Their antics her very well done with scratching and laughing.  I also enjoyed the characters of the king and queen who were very regal, and the king very diplomatic to get a commitment from their son about marriage.  And Cinderella and Prince Christopher are very good together.  Blake Rawls directed.  This is the Rodgers and Hammerstein version.  I really enjoyed the sister duet, "What could he see in a girl like her" and the King and Queen singing their duet about boys and girls.

Ghost Walk 2024

Image
For the ghost walk I mostly took pictures of re-enactors I know.  Some very interesting stories this year.  With the Chinese mafia murder they added an antique car in which the murderers arrived and drove off.    The Demkes and our neighbor told the story of the man who murdered his wife and then was hung and his head popped off.  This year we heard the story of a ghost at Brunswick Hotel from Paul David Placial and how the hotel was divided.   Chinese mafia murder in Kingman, The Rawls Brunswick hotel ghost, Paul David Ghost dance A new presentation inside the IOOF buiding Demkes and Rhi who owuldn't brak character for a pisture

Beale Street Theater Play: The Curious Savage

Image
I went to the play today: The Curious Savage, presented by Beale Street Theater.  It was actually very good.  I know several people in the play, including my neighbor Rhiannon.  She was the psychiatrist.  I didn't take pictures during thre show, but did get a picgufe of the set.  As usual Beale Street did a very good job.  This is a show that has its funny parts, but mostly makes you think.  This is a sanitarium where Ethel Savage is sent by her children.  By the end of the show, you wonder really who has the mental issues, and is money more important that relationships?  The characters are very interesting and very well done.

Fiddler on the Roof

Image
After six performances over the past two weekends, out Fiddler on the Roof run has ended.  I portrayed the butcher, Lazar Wolf.  It was a fun show.  I didn't get many pictures myself but here are a few I collected from Facebook and emails.  Thanks to the photographers.  Also my family who came for the Saturday matinee. selfy of my "Fiddler" beard
