Omaha Restaurant Review: Cracker Barrel

On thing cool about Cracker Barrel is that the let you stay overnight.  We did this in Kansas City when we went to the temple.  We ate dinner in the evening, and then spent the night and went back for breakfast.  Cracker Barrel makes a very good breakfast.  There are a couple close to me where we live in Bellevue.  The closest is actually in Council Bluffs, and then there is on the I80 but farther west.  They seem to be throughout the country close to freeway exits.  As for dinner they make a very good fried chicken.  The also have country fried steak, pot roast and meat loaf.  This is not our most favorite restaurant, but it is up there. One thing cool about Cracker Barrel is the country store in each location.  The have orange and raspberry sticks, and many other selections of candy.  They have what would be called old fashioned candy which is good for me.  I am old fashioned.

Sometimes there is a line to pay.  Last time we went we had the daily special, country fried pork which was very good.  They also have country fried steak.  I have also had their fried chicken.  Tony has enjoyed their dumplings.  The southern cooking seems to hit the comfort food spot.  There are 664 restaurants in 45 states.  A side benefit of Cracker Barrel is for the most part the allow boon-doc...
