Tony Has Graduated from High School

Image
Tony has achieved a significant mile stone.  One May 20 he graduated from Lee Williams High School.  He was one of the last to march his last name being in the W's.  But he has done it and we are all very proud of him. Last in line Hualapais behind Waiting for diploma

Tony is graduating from Lee Williams High School Tuesday 5/20/2025

Tony has finally gotten to where he is ready to graduate from high school.  He has attended Lee Williams High School all four years.  All of his papers are turned in and all that is left is his senior trip to southern California, Disneyland etc.  And then rehearsal and graduation on Tuesday of next week, May 20.  Hooray!  As of now Tony has no definite plans beyond moving with us to Omaha which is happening next month.  He did tennis 2 1/2 years and volleyball two years.  He took two years of Spanish.

Volleyball Party: End of Season

Image
Last night we went to Tony's volleyball party.  We were at a house north of town (same as last year) which has lots to do outside.  The boys all went outside to play volley ball or basketball or football.  we hardly saw them so coach didn't have a chance to say something about the boys when the got their certificates.  She just handed them out to the parents.  They had a very good time however and we had potluck.  Sheri took what she calls Angie's salad which Angie Norman use to often make for family gatherings in Tracy.  Sheri and I had a good talk with coach.  She said Tony always seemed to be very positive, even when they lost most of their games.  He was the only returning senior.  Consequently he had a leadership role and was co-captain.

After Tony's volleyball game I stopped by the concert at the high school.  The concert was provided  by the Lee Williams High School choir, the combined middle school choir (White Cliffs and Kingman), and a combined elementary school choir.  Elementary combined sand Doo Wah Diddy Diddy, Round the Mountain and When I Believe.  Middle School combined sand Pure Imagination and Promised Land.  High School sang Wad in the Water and By the Waters.  They concluded the concert with the Crawdad Song.  Made for a short and sweet concert.  The said this is the fortieth year for this annual concert. And Just Like That, Tony's Volleyball Season is Over

Image
Tony played in the first two seasons of volleyball at Lee Williams High School.  He had a terrific time, but just like that his season is over.  They ended on a high note however with two victories their last two games in Kingman, and a road loss in Prescott Valley to Bradshaw Mountain on Tuesday.  Tony played great all three games.  The last game was his Senior Night so we walked out with him before the game.  It has been fun watching him play.  Tony mostly plays libero, I think he likes that best.  He gets to play most of the game as libero but always plays on the back row and he cannot jump and spike, even from the back row.  Tony has a very good serve.  He is very accurate.  When he served the team usually were able to score some points.   With coach

Pictures are from a game, warm up and game and from a scrimmage.  There are also ictures of Tony as libero.  This is when he focuses on the back line.  I think it likes this more as he ets to play more.  He is always number 5.

Tony's Senior Year Volleyball Has Started

Image
Tony's favorite sport is volleyball.  He has liked it since he started playing at Veritas School in seventh grade.  When we moved to Kingman men's volleyball was not available.  It started last year.  Since the first game he has been playing libero.  He wears a different color and stays on the back row.  Tony is having fun.  They are improving a bit each game but still haven't won a match.

Lee Williams First Year Men's Volleyball 2024

Tony had a difficult decision this year.  He played volleyball in middle school; but his 8th grade year was cancelled for COVID.  Then we moved and Lee Williams did no have Men's Volleyball--so he took to tennis.  However this year Lee Williams offered volleyball; just the same season as tennis.  He tried to do both for the first of the year, gut concluded it was too hard and he decided to focus on volleyball.  He played J.V. and never went out.  On varsity he rarely went in.  He said he played back line at the tournament they went to in Phoenix.
