Cliffs and Finger Rocks in Kingman

Image
We took a buggy ride to west Kingman; off of Anson Smith Road we took the last dirt road to the south and drove up by the cliffs and what I call finger rocks.  This area has many of them.  We also took the White Cliffs road.  This road is very rough, with lots of loss rocks.  We were lucky we were in the buggy.  It gives a view from the back side of the first road we took.  We also went to Beale Springs and ate our picnic lunch.  We also drove up Red Ghost Drive up to the point where there was private property.  It made for a fun day with plenty of views of rocks which I love.

This is Tony's Spanish class Day of the Dead piñata.  Of course this is posted late.  We stuffed the piñata full of candy for a weekend party; but then Tony was asked not to go to school for a week as he had been exposed to Covid at school (he never got sick); so he missed the party and breaking his own piñata.  It was paper mâché over cardboard which had been taped together.  And then a few frillies from the dollar store for decoration.   We all helped make a mess with the paste which was pretty fun.

Route 93 Kingman to Las Vegas: The Road to the Temple

I am hoping to give a detailed description of Highway 93, or the future 11 Corridor.  This is the road from Las Vegas to Phoenix.   In this blog I am focusing on the road from Kingman to the temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Las Vegas.  I try to travel this at least once a week.  I am going to enclose places to stop along the way.  It seems I am usually in such a hurry that I am never able to stop anywhere.   Although the mile markers stop as you get into town, the highway 40 is about mile marker 71 on the 93.  The mile markers are helpful to give an approximate time to arrive at the state line and at the 40.  It takes about an hour driving about 70 miles per hour. The first couple miles the road is commercial with the speed limit of 35.  In these first couple miles are eight gas stations and three hotels.  There are also several restaurants including, Wendy's, Popeyes, Black Bear Diner, Chester's Chicken, Subway and Filiberto's.  Some of the rest
