Jenny Oaks Baker Concert in Mesa

Image
The purpose of our recent trip to Mesa was to see the Christmas concert presented by Jenny Oaks Bakes and Family Four and Alex Sharpe.  I was very excited to hear Alex Sharpe live.  I was in tears when she stepped on stage to sing during the first song.  There were a couple times however I couldn't understand the lyrics, especially in "Breath of Heaven."  Sheri says the instruments may have been too loud.  However over all it was an excellent program.  The other song that touched my emotions was "Away in a Manger."  It has long been my favorite.  I love Alex Sharpe's voice.  I felt the narration detracted overall rather than added to the presentation.  The dancers were lovely.  Sheri preferred the cloggers while I liked the ballet dancers.  They were beautiful.

Tony as Bob Ross

A few weeks back they had a Bob Ross night for Tony's young men's/ women's group.  Tony did a great job of portraying the artist.

Pioneer Day 2022

Image
Sheri and I went to the pioneer day breakfast celebration.  We went to, through Hackberry and came back opposite the abandoned houses off of the 93.  The Whitney family hosted. They have a property east of Kingman with a pioneer village back drop,  It made for a fun environment.  There were hayrides and games for kids and dress up activities.  And we actually say a road runner in the wild as we left.

Temple Baptism Trip July 30.

Image
17 Young men and women visited the Las Vegas Temple early in the morning July 30.  There were also six adults.  Our session was at 9 a.m. and a two hour drive had us leaving Kingman at 6:45.  I really love the young people in our ward and the spiritual blessings they bring to the ward.  For my part close to 100 individuals were baptized and confirmed.  Additionally some did temple names and some people brought their own names.  It was a terrific morning.  Brother Swigert took us to Cafe Rio for an early lunch.  I am not sure if he paid or the ward.  I had a very special and spiritual time.  I hope the youth did as well.
