Billy Wardle Happenings

 Sheri was in Indiana, where the eclipse was full.  She went to a park with the boys to watch.  We in Kingman didn't get a full eclipse but it was still cool.  Sheri took all the glasses with her so we did the best we could. Carbondale, Illinois where I lived a couple years as a youth was featured as there were weddings and complete darkness.  I spent only one night at the Giant City State Park.  I was surprised by how close it was to Carbondale.  I had never camped there before.  The other surprising thing I discovered is the lodge.  They served the best chicken I think I have ever eaten.  It was very juicy.  I didn't find the cliffs I knew as a youth.  However the campground was very nice with a shower.  It was also very inexpensive.  They also had cabins with a pool.  There was a water tower for climbing.   lodge pictures: Jerry Sloan from McCleansboro Rush Limbaugh from Cape Cirardeau CCC worker memorial lodge courtyard
