Jeremy's House; January/February 2025

Image
For most of the time I was in Indiana the weather was cold and there were several snow storms.  It did warm a bit towards the end.  I took the kids to the Goshen Theater and we saw Moana 2 .  We also went to the Elkhart Theater in Bristol which is close to Jeremy's house.  We saw Alice in Wonderland presented by a children's theater.  I went to a musical by myself in Goshen.  It was called Bright Star which is written by Steve Martin and has lots of Bluegrass.  I enjoyed it.  I made it to Chicago Temple twice.  I took the boys for bowling and pizza on Martin Luther King Day.  I took pictures of a couple hearts but mostly stayed in for bad roads.  I meant to get a better picture of the boys.

Elkhart, Indiana Summer 2022

Taken from its name, Elkhart has many random hearts throughout the city as well as elk.  Here are just a few. Also on the downtown island where the St. Joseph River goes around in two streams, there is a memorial to the constitution of the United States.

RV museum in Elkhart, Indiana

Image
You need a lot of space for an R.V. Museum.  This museum is in a large warehouse.  Sheri was especially interested in the Daydream as she followed them traveling Route 66 on Youtube.  They had all types of R.V.s, including trailers, tear drops and large modern coaches.  Many are made in the Elkhart area.  They have a small store with books and other R.V. items.   Keep your Daydream alive

Amongst the Amish

Image
This summer when we were with Jeremy, he took us to the Amish community, Shipshewana, Indiana.  We drove around, and often followed horse drawn carriages.  We did not do the carriage ride, but we explored the gift shop and bought some Christmas ornaments.  We also visited the restaurant which was very nice.  We also visited the candy shop as that is where they sold pies and caramels and other stuff.  We bought Amish peanut butter which is very different.  We walked around the neighborhood.  There were lots of furniture stores and furniture construction going on.   The restaurant The store

Jeremy and the Boys

Image
I visited Jeremy and the boys a couple times this past summer, once by myself and then with Sheri.  I took some nice pictures of the family.  I went to Bronston and Asher baseball games, to the school for award from Bronston, robotics fair for Skylar.  I went to church with them.  When we went back we helped Jeremy get into his new house.  While there I was able to attend the Indianapolis and Chicago temples.  It is very green there; but also hot and humid.  Roarke turned three while I was there, which they celebrated with their neighbors.  I also went to a community fair on the island in town which had hula hoops and art projects.

Indiana Sand Dunes National Park

Image
At first I thought this would be a park where you take you atv buggy on the sand dunes.  I was badly mistaken.  This is a national park geared to preserve the sand dunes.  The dunes are very much like a California beach where they have sand dunes before getting to the beach and ocean.  Consistent with their mission to preserve the dunes; there were walking trails blocked off.  Some of them looked like they would have been fun, going up and over the dunes.  Most people there were headed to the south shore of Lake Michigan.  It was a very hot day.
