Welcome to Kingman: Keepers of the Wild Nature Park

Keepers of the Wild is an animal sanctuary rather than a zoo.  The rescue animals, from the wild, from people's homes, from magic acts and circuses, and then restore their health and almost always keep them until they die.  They do not breed the animals.  They do not sell them.  On a rare occasion they are able to rehabilitate them to the wild (birds).  They have over 130 animals.  Often tigers and lions are declawed before coming to the facility which is very painful for the cats and leads to lifetime health problems.   bear emu guide said lazy lion but he got up and snorted at Sheri tigers African tortoise llama White tiger Singing dog bobcat We took the tour which gave us a tour guide who told stories of how different animals came to be in the park.  The had many emu from a failed farming operation who just released them to the desert.  I guess in Nevada it is legal to have exotic animals and many have been rescued from there.  Some were picture animals (cubs who could sit on a

Tony graduated and even marched as COVID restrictions were lessened the last couple weeks of school.  (However Tony did stay home for a week as he has been close to someone who developed COVID at school.  Tony even received several citizenship award seven though he was only at Kingman Middle School for a quarter.   Liza McNeil was in town and attended with us.  With remote learning Tony really had a hard time with school.  Of course he started at Veritas School but he finished strong at Kingman Middle School.

New Hobby in Kingman: Honda Pioneer Side by Side

Image
We live in the eastern most part of Kingman on the north side of I-40, at the end of the paved portion of Airway.  Beyond our house is a network of dirt roads.  We didn't want to take our vehicles on them, so have purchased a side by side.  We call it the sand buggy.  We have found bouncy roads, hilly roads.  Most are pretty dusty.  We have found what seems to be an old abandoned house.  I also go looking for pretty rocks and stop from time to time to pick one up and bring it home.   Baby is in buggy while we are parked east of Kingman

Meeting Baby Porter: Grandbaby Fifteen

Image
We made a trip to California to meet Baby Porter.  He is a cutie.   In addition to meeting Porter, we went to Todd's soccer game.  He is young so it isn't very competitive but it was fun.  Caleb coaches.  We then went camping with Caleb,Todd, Hadley, Camberly and Hayley.  We were at Caswell for just one night.  The next day was Camberly's baseball game.
