Kingman Restaurant Review: Mattina's Ristorante

Image
Billed as the best Italian cuisine in the Tri-State area and it may very well be.  Serving pasta in very large bowls, the pasta has something special with a taste to delight the palette.  Also has a very nice ambience.  Reservations are recommended.  Could be a bit pricey with some dishes in the $30 range.

We finally made it to a rodeo in Kingman, September 2024

Image
We have been intending to visit a rodeo in Kingman, but end up out of town.  In September we were actually able to go to the rodeo.  We had been to the rodeo grounds once before but this was part of the fair and not a rodeo.  It was fun to see the clowns try to rescue the cowboys when things went wrong, which they usually did.

Kingman Hikes: White Cliffs Trail South Entrance

The White Cliffs Trail systems has been extended considerably with the addition of two trailheads.  The South Trailhead is just north of the couurt building.  It is on fourth street but cannot ber accessed directly off of fourth.  You can go on fifth to the Palo Christi school and turn back behind the courthouse on Maple Street until getting to fourth and then go up the hill.  You can also access the trailhead from third street, turing east on Chestnut street and following up the hill.  This is a newer trailhead having been opened a little more than a year ago.  The trail is marked intermediate.  There are two directions to go, both of which meet again at the top.  The trail to the left first goes down, close to the "K".  This trail has many switchbacks going up the hill.  The other trail to the right goes around the hill on the other side.  It is fairly steep.  After getting to the top there are a myriad of trails to fol...

Musical Scarlet Pimpernell September 2024 Beale Street Theater

Image
Beale Street Theater presented a Fall music: The Scarlet Pimpernel.  Shelby Wigren directed, Tyler Wigren portrayed the Pimpernel, Alicia Russel played Marguerite and Jacob Beckstrand played Chauvelin, of the revolution who takes bride in sending people to the guillotine.  I portrayed St. Cyr, and aristocrat who appears to have been betrayed by Marguerite.  His head is chopped off early in the musical, so I have the distinction of having my head chopped off after singing my one line.  I got a couple backstage pictures, and then a few others shared.  Turned out to be a fun show.  The movie upon which it is based is here . The Graffs The Duke/ Jonathan I am in the grasp of Chauvelin making plans wedding, Pimpernel and Maguerite Pimpernel and his men Special dance was beautiful, choreographer was Hatie Graff, Mattea, Trent, Seth I came back as a prisoner, cousin.
