Ghost Walk 2023

One thing that makes Kingman unique are the ghost walks.  the happen every year a couple weeks before Halloween.  King has plenty of cool ghost sgtories.  It seems most of the downtown stores have their own unique ghost stories.  The most unique is the guy whose head 0opped off when he was being hanged for the murder of his girlfriend.  He is seen dragging his head around, mostly haunting Lee Williams High School as he was buried there before the high school was built.

Our tour guides.  Here telling the story of the ghost haunting Beale Theater

Emma is portraying Madame Jack Black of the rabbit patch (red-light district) and her parrot.  The parrot died and was afforded a funeral with headstone and everything.  When the school was built and the cemetery relocated, so was the parrot.

Repesentation of Hadji Ali aka Hi Jolly who was the camel coordinator for the Beale camel crossing of Arizona.

Don't rememb er the story but in front of the oldest living thing in Kingman, an old mesquite tree.

This is our neighbor Bri telling the story as Olive Oatman.  She and her sister were kidnapped by Apache Indians.  Rest of the family was killed except her brother who survived a blow to the head.  Olive and her sister were sold to the Mojave Indians of the Colorado River.  She was tattooed to mark her as a slave.

The night concludes with the Ghost Dance.  It is explained as the result of a chemical spill in the area.  Of course this is fiction.  Kingman people are perfectly normal as you can see.  The Steeds in our ward are some of the dancers.  Project Movement puts on the dance
