Charlie's blessing was in California in April last year.  I wasn't blogging at the time so neglected to post pictures so I am doing so now.

Willow Beach

Image
While Sheri and I were camping at Boulder Beach we drove down to Willow Beach to check it out.  Willow Beach is south of Las Vegas and fourteen miles inside the border on 93.  Of course the other side of the river is Nevada.  We were there in the off season but the campground was still busy.  There were also fishermen along the beach and pier. Nice view of Lake Mohave from the campground From the pier down by the water

Omaha: First National's Spirit of Nebraska's Wilderness and Pioneer Courage Park

Image
This is an urban sculpture park dedicated to the pioneer spirit of those departing from Omaha for parts west.  It is affiliated with the Nebraska's Wilderness park a couple blocks away.  Together they make the largest bronze and steel sculpture park in the United States and one of the three largest in the world.  The pieces are meant for interaction as you imagine what the pioneers may have been going through or thinking.  You can also interact with the animals.  They are mostly buffalo and geese. Eclipse April 2024

Image
Sheri was in Indiana, where the eclipse was full.  She went to a park with the boys to watch.  We in Kingman didn't get a full eclipse but it was still cool.  Sheri took all the glasses with her so we did the best we could. Carbondale, Illinois where I lived a couple years as a youth was featured as there were weddings and complete darkness. SHeri and boys at a park in Bristol, Indiana Using the colander made a cool pattern and didn't hurt the eyes

Ghost Walk 2023

Image
One thing that makes Kingman unique are the ghost walks.  they happen every year a couple weeks before Halloween.  Kingman has plenty of cool ghost stories.  It seems most of the downtown stores have their own unique ghost stories.  The most unique is the guy whose head popped off when he was being hung for the murder of his girlfriend.  He is seen dragging his head around, mostly haunting Lee Williams High School as he was buried there before the high school was built. Our tour guides.  Here telling the story of the ghost haunting Beale Theater Emma is portraying Madame Jack Black of the rabbit patch (red-light district) and her parrot.  The parrot died and was afforded a funeral with headstone and everything.  When the school was built and the cemetery relocated, so was the parrot. Representation of Hadji Ali aka Hi Jolly who was the camel coordinator for the Beale camel corp crossing of Arizona. Don't remember the story but in front of th...
