Summer 2024 in Nebraska and Doorley Zoo

Image
Traveling through to Elkart I was able to spend considerable time with Charity in Nebraska.  These trips of course included the zoo.  We also visited the Winter Quarter Visitor Center and the Kanesville Visitor Center.  It is always fun to spend time with the Halls.   Baby elephant

Rock Climbing with Caleb's Family

Image
We went to Ripon to the climbing walls with Caleb and his family--Alpine Climbing Adventures Fitness.  We were there for Charlie's baby blessing.  The kids seemed like they were old hats at this.  I stayed on the ground and helped spot--especially Quincy.  Miranda and Caleb and Tony did go up however.  Caleb belayed on the taller side. Ready to go.  On one side is self belay and the other you need someone to belay. Had way up Tony and Todd Quincy is a brave little three-year-old Todd going way up

Council Bluffs: Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park

Image
Two really unique things about this River Edge park in Iowa, the big tall alien.  It is actually called a humanoid.  It is 33 feet tall.  Sculpted by Tom Friedman.  It is title "Looking Up."  The other thing is the pelican themed playground.  Charity's kids like this, especially Owen.

In the Visitor's Center you learn that Brigham Young was the glacier for the temple.  He made the windows and their shap must have taken great effort.   The garden and historical marker typical window; glacier Brigham Young An old steeple

Strange UFO Clouds over Las Vegas

Image
Sheri and I were driving through Las Vegas a couple weeks ago and encountered what I call UFO clouds.  They are such a UFO could hide in them and no one would know that they are spying on us.  Sheri was driving and I took the pictures from the passenger seat.

Summer 2024 Trip to Elkhart, Indiana

I had a good time with Jeremy and the boys this summer.  Among other things we went to the movie a few times, including Despicable Me 4 and Inside Out 2.  We went swimming.  I went to a jazz pianist concert at the Lerner Theaters.  We saw the play "The Shoemaker and the Elves at a small theater in Michigan.  We went swimming in Mishawaka.  Went to a band concert.  There was a park there and the kids spent most of their time at the park and listened to the music from a distance.  Jeremy and I went to a rooftop concert at the library.  We went to the beach with Elizabeth.  Lastly we saw the musical Blood Brothers in reverse, the stage being only the front and then the auditorium.  We sat in the back stage area.  Of course the most enjoyable was spending time with the boys.  We went to ward Primary party.  Went to the Bristol library a lot.  I won a quilt in a raffle there.  And Roarke made cards for me....
