Project Movement Dance Concert Was Incredible

Image
A couple weeks ago I attended the Project Movement Dance Concert to see some of the kids I have taught in primary (and other kids from our ward I have not taught.  I was not disappointed.  I really liked the acrobatic dance as some girls from our ward were tumbling across the stage.  They were incredibly talented.  In addition the musical Moana broke out on stage that was fun.  Even the director Miss Julie took part.  Another member of our ward family, Hattie Graff from our ward helped with several of the dances.  She is a dance instructor there.  One girl we taught in primary is a ballet dancer.  The stage was full of our Sunbeams from last year.  I like seeing the little ones perform.  I get to see them in a different light than church. They presented a movie of their aerial class at the airport.  What a fun sport I don't see myself ever doing but women us fabric to twist themselves up and then untwist.  It is some...

Sheri and the Grandparent Dance in Indiana

Sheri traveled to Indiana to take these three handsome boys to the grandparent dance at their school.

Davis Dam Visit

Image
Sheri and I found ourselves in Bullhead so decided to visit Davis Dam.  It was self guided tour but very informative.  The water goes through sideways unless it flows over the spillway.  I know the dam was being built when WWII started as the workers were diverted to building the airfield in Kingman which they felt had higher priority at the time.

Snow in Kingman

Image
When I drove home last night, the thermometer was dropping and it was raining pretty hard.  I said to myself, this is going to turn to snow.  This morning we were greeted with snow on the ground, but the sun was shining and the snow didn't stay very long.  There was not enough for a snow man.  I hung i. the corner that as shaded, and on the turf.

Other Nauvoo Pictures

Image
Nauvoo is a very fun place to visit.  It is known for the many historical areas, including the pioneer graveyard, and the historical buildings.  However it is also now a place for arts, almost entirely presented by young missionaries.  While there we attended a musical, a show with band and singers, and a street show with only a few singers but also members of the band.   Sheri was a bit under the weather, but Tony and I also took a wagon ride, and toured a couple of the historical buildings. In the visitors center is a depiction of the original Moroni. The view from the temple is nice.  Here is the Hyrum and Joseph statue. Going down by the river is also nice.  This is at the end of Parley Street where it meets Water Street.  Here is Joseph Smith and Brigham Young depicted in statue. Lastly I took a fast turn to see the Smith Family graves in Nauvoo.  This is not at the pioneer gravesite but by the Smith homes.
