Echo Canyon and Wyoming on our Trip to Omaha
During Tony's fall break (two weeks) we traveled to Omaha and then California. Our motivation for traveling to Omaha was to be there for Camberly's baptism. She just turned eight. We first headed to Salt Lake to pick up grandsons Elliott and Gus as they were going to be with us for the week as their parents went on a cruise.
From there we stopped in Echo Canyon as we headed east. This is where Great Great Grandfather Isaac helped build and man breastworks made of stones while defending Salt Lake from the federals who were coming as part of the Utah War.
We continued east and stopped in Evanston at the state park/rest area. This is opposite the state hospital where I once interviewed for a job.
We spent the night in Laramie at the Motel 6. This experience convinced Sheri that we will not stop at Motel 6 again.
The following morning we stopped at the Lincoln Memorial early in the day. This is a great place to stop along the way. This eft us with a desire to go camping in this area. There are lots of trees and areas very unusual rock formations.
