Thanksgiving 2022

Image
Just a few pictures.  We were enjoying football and turkey dinner eating.  Annie helped the kids do an art project.  Present for Thanksgiving were Jeremy and boys, Miranda, Tony, Grandpa Scoresby, Caleb and Annie and kids.  I didn't do a very good job with pictures other than as we were serving to eat.  We had turkey, two brands of stuffing, homemade and store bought Stove Top, cranberries, rainbow jell-o, rolls, kale salad, potatoes and gravy and corn--which everybody ate.  Martinelli's for drink along with water.  We had turkey dinner with the trimmings.  There was also buggy riding, and art projects.  Rorie had been feeling poorly when he arrived but was doing better with some medicine.

Kingman Hikes: Mohave Wash Path

Image
Mohave Wash Path travels diagonally through Kingman, mostly in a north to south; but more north east to south west.  it follows Mohave Draw and there is a paved trail from Beverly (behind the library) to Northern, east of Banks.  It continues on to at least Thompson but is not paved.  The wash continues even further.  Along the path is the wash where there is sand and rocks.  Along the bank there is also vegetation and trees.  It lines the Walleck Neighborhood City Park.  Opposite Willow Rd the wash and hike continue past the Willow Dog Park.  There is a small grassy area with benches where the trail crosses Gordon.  There is also parking.  The trail crosses Bank just north of Kingman High School and is paved to Northern.  There is a lack of trees for shade along the trail.

Route 66 Museum: Kingman

Image
The Highway 66 Museum is located in the old Power Plant building with the Visitors Center.  It is upstairs.  I really enjoyed the John Steinbeck section.  The had an old truck which would be similar to the Joads traveling across the country,  There was also a good display of the old city center in the days of Route 66.

Our Fourth of July Fireworks in Elkhart, Indiana

Image
The fire works were actually a couple days before the fourth, but they were fun.  We were there with Jeremy and the four boys.

Last Stop on Olympic National Park Tour: Visitors Center, Port Angeles

Image
The park is designed so an arm of the park extends into Port Angeles.  From here is the road to Hurricane Ridge.  For us the visitor's center became our last stop because the road up Hurricane Ridge was closed for repairs after some flooding in the area. Here there was a nice display of a whaling boat with accessories, including a wooden box and a mat.  Also a harpoon with a bladder.  There were also a couple wildlife exhibits.

Launch from Vandenberg October 27 as seen from western Arizona.

Image
I was in Bullhead at the gas station and someone asked me if i had seen the rocket.  I had not.  Apparently a launch from the Vandenberg Space Port of 53 satellites on a rocket.   I didn't see the rocket but the contrails were very interesting.  I took picture as the sunset in Bullhead.  I called my wife and she took pictures in Kingman. Kingman pictures Bullhead pictures

These are my views of the Veterans Parade in Kingman.  There were lost of Mustangs; Even more veterans on motorcycles.  Lots of flags.  It was a pretty good representation of the local veterans.  I was on the wrong side of the street for good pictures as taking into the sun.
