Beale Theater Ghost Walk tour A
This is the sixth annual Ghost Walk by Beale Theater. This is a very enjoyable presentation and worthy of any ghost story or history buff. I consider myself both so I was in my element. This is a review of the performance, but I have written up the stories which you can link to here.
There was a story about two brothers who burnt themselves up at the old jail. This was complete with eerie lights and banging sounds.
We were introduced to Lewis Kingman. The story of the Screaming ghost of Slaughter House Canyon was introduced. This was complete with screams. I missed some of the next presentation as we were still walking up when he started. However the cowboy told the story of a murder, and the ghost that comes back once a year to ride off with his friends.
Hi Jolli of Hadji Ali told the story of the red camel ghost. She indicated this ghost has been seen in Kingman above the "K" on the hills behind the high school.
The tour included going into the Beale Theater which is currently being remodeled. Here a ghost story was told about a former projectionist who was let go when the theater changed management. It was fun being in the building which is being remodeled.
The Thriller Dance was presented towards the end of the walk. The backdrop was the Red school. This was very much a high light and was very well done. They tried to explain this as part of Kingman due to interaction with nuclear waste. This was the part of the presentation which was for entertainment and I don't think has a basis in reality. However it makes for good fun.
Only adults danced; but there were many younger kids who followed those in the walk around and were very creepy and frightening.
And I never knew Lee Williams High School had issues with being haunted as it was constructed over the cemetery which was moved to make ways for the school. However not every family could afford to move the bodies. This was made very creepy when at the climax of the story all this little ghouls came through the bushes and provided a fright.
